Building a better world together

_mg_2969BRE (the Building Research Establishment) was established in 1921 as a UK government organisation before its privatisation in 1997.

Throughout its history BRE has been a leader in the advancement of the built environment sector and continues to be in the face of changing social, environmental and economic issues.

BRE provides advanced impartial research, knowledge and advice for the built environment in order to build a better world together. We aim to help clients create better, safer and more sustainable products, buildings, communities and businesses through continuous expert innovation.

We conduct cutting edge research into multiple fields of the built environment to develop a range of tools, products and services that drive progressive sustainable change across the sector. By remaining entirely independent of government, commercial or sector interests we are able to remove all bias from our research and innovation as we strive to help industry build a better world.

Through advisory services, master planning, policy guidance, construction standards and software products we help clients create safe and sustainable high quality buildings which meet legislative, social and environmental requirements at every stage of the product.
